Hi,

I have also heard good things about the therapy--I do not have any

experience with the Connections Center. We purchased a couple of

the books and do the " lessons " here at home:

The ones we bought can be found at http://www.amazon.com

Relationship Development Intervention with Young Children by

E. Gutstein

and

Relationship Development Intervention with Children, Adolescents and

Adults: Social and Emotional Development Activities for Asperger

Syndrome, Autism, PDD, and NLD

We use a combination of approaches during therapy and RDI is better

for certain situations. As an ex-teacher, I have learned to take

the best of the best and alternate/integrate/mix them. We still use

ABA, AVB, SI, FloorTime, SonRise, etc... techniques throughout the

day. It is interesting that there is a lot of overlapping between

each of the different schools of thought.

The parents you know might have the books and I would ask to borrow

them. You can photo copy the lessons you like or feel that your

child needs and start there to see if this is something that you

want more of.

Good luck,

Theresa, SA
