What is cough varient asthma please?

-- Cough varient asthma

Hi group, I am a new member here but not new to asthma (:. I have cough

variant asthma & take 2 puffs nightly of Fluticasone (250mcg). That has

been ok for about 2 years & now my chest is tight & I cough at most

anything that is in the air. I am susceptible to all the listed

triggers except the emotional one. Have doctors appointment this Monday

to probably increase dose. Does anyone else here have cough variant

asthma? If so what works well for you? I had asthma for 10 years as a

child then it came back two years ago. I am in my late 50's and hoping

the asthma doesn't keep progressing.

Take care,

==================================

I do.

It's a pain.

What has kept the cough part away was advair twice a day but it took

awhile for it to actually work. I still having coughing spells but use

to have 23 a day now have 3 a week so that's help the best with coughing

part. Your doctor will play around with things until something works

for you mines been working on mine for several months before I started

to improve. Much luck!

HUGS!!!

I'll have to ask you to identify yourself, the clerk said.

and pronounced, Yes. That's definitely me.

Hi Queen Marie, Thanks for your reply. I will ask about the Advair. It

is nice to hear from someone else who knows what I am experiencing. My

coughing will stop when I get away from the trigger into clear air but

you can't always do that :)

Take care,

Hi !

I know what you mean and no you can't stay away from your triggers all

the time unless you stay in sterile bubble and not live then maybe just

maybe you'll be fine. :) Let me know if you have any other questions I

know some things. :)

HUGS!!!

the other complication is diabetes

i'm at pre-diabetes now.

It also runs in my family.

this is for advair.

not everyone gets the side effects but everyone that's on it should know

what they're getting into

i personally need it right now I was having 23 attacks a day breathing

or sugar so i pick breathing and working on the sugar

this is no perfect medicine like there is no perfect person if you want

less side effects you can try natural things but you'll have to stay

away from your triggers no exceptions or your back where you started

from i haven't figured out how to do that yet maybe our world will

become more environment friendly in many years to come one can hope but

until then gotta do what's best for your personal situation whatever

that is.

HUGS!!!
