Guest guest Posted May 28, 2006 Report Posted May 28, 2006 since it is kinda cool here now - wintery I thought I would try nna's chestnut bread so I ground some chestnuts - dried - into flour -added water, a little salt and kneaded it. then placed ina bread form lined with baking paper and baked at about 200 degrees Celcisu for about 40 minutes - preheated then lowered the oven to about 180 and continued a bit longer. then took it out and baked it a little longer upside down. it is dense and sweet. I will experiment with mixing in other flours - brown rice etc - toasted wlanuts or raisins or cinnamon etc would be nice as well....
