Guest guest
Jen, I'm glad to hear that the sutures were open. I know 's mom had been told that her son's head shape was normally seen with cranio, but luckily his sutures were open as well. I think any anomoly in the shape of the head could have possible repercussions down the line. Doesn't necesarily mean that it will happen, we just don't know. Many times, babies with brachycephaly, have no facial assymetries, so one would think that since they are symetrical it won't cause problems. But since the back of the head is so flat, the position of the jaw hinge is pushed forward, quite possibly resulting in an underbite. I realize that your daughter's brachy has rounded on its own (great job repositioning!) but I was just trying to show that even though symetrical, there may still be some kind of impact from the flatness. Also, your husband might not want to band thinking it might be purely for cosmetic reasons, but take into account the safety reasons as well, such as a bike helmet.
