Hi,

I am one of those asthmatics who is sensitive to some flowers and most perfumes. I have had my asthma severely triggered by this stuff. I cannot be anywhere near pine or cedar oils of any kind. I had to speak to the manager of the grocery store I frequently use about the pine cleaner they used otherwise I would have to find a different store. I found out I wasn't the only person who couldn't stand it. The manager had the guys who clean start using something else. My close neighbors are even careful what they clean with. I am usually well controlled it's just that some of this stuff will bother me, so I don't allow the aroma therapies or anything like that in the house. I just don't know what will and what won't bother me so I am just careful. I like candles but can't burn them and can only keep the lightest smelling vanilla in the house. Take care,

June,You gave such great advice ! To the point, well written..Than I came to your last sentence..:)If someone would give me lavender EO to sniff while having breathing problems it probably would kill me.Especially if someone does not know the difference and uses a Fragrance oil lavender. Besides, there are all kinds of different lavender species and it does make a difference which one is used. AND it better be from a reputable , knowledgeable essential oil dealer who knows his phytochemistry and suppliers. Stay away from outfits that sell oils like Amway, their dealers have no knowledge of the phytochemistry of oils and are mainly in the business to sell, being told by their uplines that only 'Their' 'Pure' essential oils will work, with cures promised that can be down right

dangerous. Most asthmatics are terribly sensitive to floral essential oils and especially synthetic Fragrances, perfumes. However, skillfully blended, some asthmatics can be helped with essential oils of frankincense, pine , eucalyptus globulus or amni vis.A drop put on a small dish of hot water, than inhaled can help often as good as a rescue inhaler. But it's not for every one and the oils, as I said, have to be skillfully blended .In essence, above mentioned essential oils are all bronchodialators, giving short term relief, lavender does not belong to that group.C-MGod bless you!
