Guest guest Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Hi I TOTALLY agree with you in your response to Gav!!! Wolfgang wrote: Hiya Gav, I'm not sure of your entire situation but it seems to me they're not treating all of your symptoms concerning your TX. A person on TX should never be without sleep meds if needed, anti-depressants if needed and they should be monitoring your bloodwork for drops in Hemoglobin, They should be reducing your riba load as I don't know your doses. My husband has troubles with his platelets so they reduce and increase his injection amounts weekly as they test his blood weekly. We can all sit here and say we're sorry and truly we are...BUT......don't give up!!!! If you knew our story as my husband has 4th stage cirr and varicies etc from the damage this disease has done to him over a course of 20 yrs. DO NOT GIVE UP......get your doctor to manage your symproms, don't allow them to make you feel you're over dramatizing, it's all part of the TX. If you can't sleep, get something for that, if you have brain fog get tham to help manage that. If you're sick to your stomach get meds for that. They can manage almost all of the side effects without additional harm being done to your liver. As for taste, we've found that using plastic utensils helps a bit, no more metal ones unless we're out. My husbands first 6 weeks were hell for him and I, but we didn't give up, we persisited on telling them everything. I didn't care how much we nagged, it took awhile but they finally have him to where he can function throughout the day. We've been through hell these last few weeks but surviving with the strength of eachother. Keep up the thoughts of getting well again, NOT giving up. I can sit here and preach as I am not the one on TX...but I live with them..I see from the outside what they can do.....Stay strong..Get strong...Fight this....
