Hi everyone -

Last month I posted about my unusual experience where I became unconscious

for about 6 hours. I have since had a gallium scan and a complete

neurological evalutaion. Neither showed anything.

My theory of what happened is that my loss of consciousness was caused by a

combination of the high fever and the low blood pressure - a symptom of

dehydration. The neurologist confirmed that the fever and low bp could indeed

have caused the loss of consciousness.

I have decided that to try to be sure that I never get dehydrated again when

dealing with our fevers, I will drink lots of water. I keep a bottle on my

desk at work and drink at least a quart through the day.

I have been feeling lots better since I started this. I have been able to

lower my prednisone from 20 mg to 8 mg in this one month and have had no

recurrence of fevers at all. I was wondering if any of you have experienced

drinking water as having a positive effect on moderating your fevers. It kind

of seems out if left field, but at the same time, there is also a logic to

the idea that with the fevers we experience, our bodies might need more

water. I don't know; that's for sure, but I'd sure love your thoughts.

Thanks -

Marcia
