Guest guest
Ilene, Your mom sounds so much like mine. My therapist asked me what would happen if I handed my mother a copy of the book " I hate you don't leave me " I was literally speechless and choking in an attempt to get words out of my mouth. My therapist told me to calm down as she could see from my reaction that wasn't a good idea. She treats patients with BP but she has stress they want to be helped. I don't know if my mom is at the point of wanting help or not. But, I'm so terrified of what would happen if she knew my thinking about her and BP. I " d be the BP person and she's be the helpless victim of my illness. Of course she will have suscepted this for years but kept silent to protect me. LOL j > After I read the book, I discussed this with my doctor. Confrontation only > works when the person you are confronting has the ability to understand and > change. He did not recommend this approach with my nada, because of the BP > behavior - it would have only given her more ammo.
