Interesting. Thanks!

Re: Hi - I'm new!

According to both my pulmonologist and gastroenterologist, the acid that refluxes back into the esophogus can actually "spill over" into the lungs causing inflamation and increased asthma symptoms. Simply treating the asthma will not help with this because the problem is actually the stomach acid. Of course this happens to non-asthmatics too, but as with anything respiratory related, it's far worse for asthmatics. And they're finding that a lot of patients that have "uncontrollable" asthma are actually suffering from reflux as well but aren't being treated. When they start on reflux meds (along with continuing their other asthma treatment), it generally improves. > Hi Crystal -> I am and recently diagnosed with asthma. Have had reflux for years and now take Aciphex twice a day for that. Singular, Flovent & Albuterol (only once on the prednisone) for the asthma. So what is the connection. I thought the medications just aggravated reflux.>
