Guest guest
Howdy, I'm new around here, although not new to asthma. I've had asthma since a teen, but my only trigger is cats. No problem. My struggle is my son, who is allergic to at least 16 different things, and has very difficult to control asthma. His allergist pretty much just throws a new medicine at us each time we visit, but I'm the type to research as much as I can into what I give my children, and to stay away from chemical meds when we can. I'm here looking for ideas and support. (i've been reading here a while and haven't seen many actual 'asthma' posts, so hopefully we can get back on track... I need all the help I can get) Besides Matt, is there anyone here who is actually in the medical/respiratory field? Blessings!
Guest guest
Hi, I have really bad allergies too, and I have found controlling my allergies is pertinent to controlling my asthma. I take Claritin, Nasocort, and Zadicor to control my allergies medication wise. I've also educated myself on how to reduce exposure to the allergens I suffer from, which is a growing list (everything I was tested for I was allergic too). I also take medication to help my asthma. The best way to reduce your sons need for meds is to do immunotherapy for his worse triggers. That's what I'm going to do. I just need to schedule my follow up appointment and talk to my allergist a little more about it before making my decision, but that's the way I'm leaning because I would like to be less reliant on medication as well. Take care, Angie > Howdy, I'm new around here, although not new to asthma. I've had > asthma since a teen, but my only trigger is cats. No problem.
