Guest guest
My thanks to each of you who answered my post. I'm not sure if I have asthma, but I would like to find out. When I get an episode it can last for half and hour or it can last for days with no relief. I usually get episodes every two or three days, but there can be a longer time in between them. As for my Dr., I am searching for someone else. This man has been my Dr. for about 10 years, and has seen my children come in with me for visits. I've been pregnant twice while under his care, yet on my last visit to him, which was because of the the hives, he actually asked me if I live alone. I was stunned. I thought my Dr. would know me by this time. Whenever I have gone to this Dr. in the past he has always gone to his cupboard and given me samples because I have no medical insurance. But, this time he was wrong. He never did any kind of tests on me for asthma nor did any looking around. He said that it would be impossible to see anything in my lungs because the kleenex particles would be too small, and even if we could see them there was no way to extract them. I think he should have referred me to specialist, and I think he should have recognized the hives as a possible side effect from the Advair. When I used the Advair, I did take it the way I was supposed to...finished the entire disk each time. But, I only started a disk if I had a bad episode. This was the way the Dr. told me to take it, or at least that is the way I understood what he said. I walked today for half an hour. It was windy and cold and the air was damp. We live in Washington so that is nothing new. After walking I had mucus building up in my bronchial tubes and lungs and I've been coughing now for about three hours. Its not as bad as it sometimes gets though and I'm hoping this episode will end soon. I'm definitely not taking any Advair for it!
