Guest guest
Did Walt just say he uses conventional meds? Is this the same Walt who has been spouting that we should not use them and that they cause the condition and we are just lining the doctors pockets? THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH WALT! THIS IS PURE HYPOCRISY AT IT'S BEST. Sue. I too on occasion take a rescue hit of meds. But I'm trying to get to where I do not any longer need them. It seems to beworking. Guest guest
Re: Walt... Hi Christa: I'm aware there are many types of asthma. What works or helps me might not others. Thats true! But again do what works for you! I hate this condition because I was a twelve hour aday workaholic. Was very active in the outdoors, outside doing things etc, ect, this is killing me not being able to do those things today. It kills my women as neither of us are spring chickens any longer. So chill out i'm not the enemy. I'm as concerned as you over whats occuring to us. I too on occasion take a rescue hit of meds. But I'm trying to get to where I do not any longer need them. It seems to be working. But who knows down the road as mu condition might get worse as the docs state. Lets hope not! Guest guest
Ok..I've had it..90% of the time when I see the name Walt in my inbox, I just hit the delete key.. BUT, to be so cocky as to say that breathing through the nose helps your asthma and always insinuating that Buteyko is the answers, is showing an attitude that tells me you might never , really had serious, long-term asthma.. I agree that cause and effect can bring on Asthma, but unless I live in a bubble that can not be avoided... Just someone near to me in a plane, movie or restaurant with perfume on can throw me in to the ER with shock from and attack fast..would not want to be without my inhaler there...Asthma is deadly, I've struggled with it since childhood and have used many alternative methods to find relief, for I work with herbs in many areas. They help, so do some breathing exercises*, but when you are in the 'throws' of it, I am grateful for modern medicine that has given us inhalers and other meds to pull through.. Just because something works on you, that does not mean it's the panacea for all...that goes for alternative methods as well as allopathic drugs.. I urge you to learn compassion for other peoples needs and to tone down your spiteful tone of voice, than you might receive more credibility.Furthermore, if you don't like this group, find another one, start one yourself.. This group was meant to support each other not to attack each other on what is 'THE' method to find relief from asthma. Some just can't be cured, other lung problems might play into it, as well as general health. C-M * Just the ability to relax during an asthma attack, can help..but darn it, it's hard to do.. however, most asthma attacks are triggered by two components, emotions and allergies, sometimes , if both fall together, it becomes a whopper.. But, emotional asthma can be toned down, if one learns biofeedback techniques..but they do not work when an allergy is on top of it.. Guest guest
Re: Walt... Hi Sue: Why is it you only state what you think i'm saying not what I am stating. I use albuterol as a rescue med not a secret if I lose control of the situation. Usually I do not need it period. I no longer take any of the other meds. I havn't used oxygen in a month even though i'm bad enough by the docs to have it here in my house if I need it. In the past attacks were severre! Some I thought I'd die from. My lady would freak they were that bad. Even had to be taken to the emnergency room over them. I have a machine I can use to breath better at night while sleeping. But since using Buteyko I do not need it at all. All reversed by breathing through my nose. I have not had severe attack in well over two months. I can now sleep much better then before. I now have hope! Where before it looked bleak at best. Now I'm not selling Buteyko to folks here. But I do know what the doctor wrote has helped me, and it made perfect sense in everyway that proved out 100% correct in testing it and trying it. If everyone would JUST breath through their nose they'd see a big difference in their Asthma. I did, and have many others who are comparing notes with me doing the same themselves and also their kids. I havn't mastered all the Buteyko breathing excercises yet because I was Critical, critical in my condition. But I will eventually get there and see how the complete program can cure this situation. It has worked for ME, where it is maybe not for you. So be it. But if I can get off oxygen, and most of the meds all my doctors agree thats the way to go. Pure Oxygen damages you lungs as do certain inhalers over prolonged use. Not my say so written medical FACT! SO what's your problem Sue? You jeanne, and Maureen sure appear to have one! If we cannot share here this forum is worthless. I'm just sharing from MY own personal experience if it helps horaay for you, if not so sorry. Do as you please! So where do we go from here people. If you want me outa here just unsubscribe me. But I would hope something I said has helped others regardless of you Sue, jeanne and Maureens opinion of what I say is bogus. Its NOT!
