Guest guest
Thanks Ashok, Malini, Ayesha, Ravi, Prabha, Munish And, no Prabha, I am going via Mumbai. My first stop will be Surat. Then I proceed to Udaipur and the rest of Rajasthan. So I am sorry, but much as I would want it, my Skoda does not want to pollute the pristine " gas free " atmosphere of Bhopal. Yes Munish, right now may not be the ideal time for a vacation. However, for a father of a first MBBS son, who has just finished his exam and has just 15 days before 2nd MBBS resumes, this is the only time. Beggars can't be choosers. And where best to go in the rainy season, but to a desert state? We also wanted to try out our Skoda on a long drive. My son has newly acquired a driving license, so we have an extra driver in our family. I can sit in the back seat after a long time Kishore Shah 1974

Guest guest
U still here?? Drive safe! We visited Rajasthan last year. Driving was nerve wrecking. Avoid travel after dark! Even if u guys are pros, especially with your kid driving. I don't trust the truckers. have fun! Guest guest
Thanks, Varsha, Mukunda. Still here, but leaving on the 22nd am. Hmmm. Many people have told me to get various things from the places that I travel. But Mukund's request to get cartoons from Rajasthan must be the strangest that I have ever received. Lets see. If the shop is open I shall get u some! Kishore Shah 1974

Guest guest
Dear Kishore, I read from your previous message that you are going via Mumbai and then to Surat. If you are travelling on National Highway 18 ( Mumbai to Ahmedabad), then you might fancy a trip to Daman as well.I am sure that you would travel on NH18 because that is only highway to get to Surat from Mumbai. The diversion to Daman is just off NH18 , about 25 kms. I did my FRHS(Fellowship of Rural Health Service) at Ankleshwar, Gujarat. So I made many a trip to Daman. It's famous for Pomfret Fry and fresh beer , that is if you like fish. There are two beaches ; one at Nani Daman and the other at Moti Daman. These 2 places are separated by about 5 kms. One of them is not comfortable to walk on, I am not sure which one. One other option is that if you travelling from Pune to Surat(directly)then you will pass through a hill station called Saputara. It's in the Dangs district near a place called Ahwa.It is a beautiful hill station because it is not crowded and you get all the facilities. If there is any place I would stop during a long journey, it would be this one. Skoda is a sturdy car 1900cc . Driving on mountain roads will be a piece of cake. I think I should stop my suggetions now otherwise everyone will think that I am on the payroll of Gujarat Tourism Board. I have travelled to quite a few places here in UK but Daman and Saputara are one of the really treasured trips. Mera Bharat Mahaan !! Once again Kishoreda, Have a whale of a time !!! PS : Never mind what I said !! Ravi`91 ))
