Guest guest
Dennis, I'm glad to hear your Social Security claim was finally approved. I think R's comment (see his recent posts) about the percentage rate of initial denials is quite accurate, although you personally haven't met anyone who got through the system the first time. Believe me, large numbers do. In any case, your own story underscores one good piece of advice - don't wait to file for Social Security once you feel you have become disabled since the process can take many months. I also agree with you about getting and keeping as many of your medical records as possible rather than expecting doctors to complete forms and send in copies of their records. Note, however, that in most cases the medical evidence that is relevant to the Soc. Sec. decision is going to be the evidence about a person's medical condition over the past year or two, since there are limitations on the retroactivity of entitlement, and most people file within a year or so of stopping work. Tom .."""""""""""""" Tom, I'm sure you were a very capable disability examiner but I must respectfullypoint out a couple of other failures of the SSA in determining disabilitystatus.[.....] I__________________________________________________
