Hi , yes I did tear up just a bit after she left. I like the recurring

" benchmark " days such as the first day of school, because I can always

remember so clearly the year before and see improvement--or sometimes the

victory is, things are no worse than last time! LOL

Well today is your kids' big day. I hope it's gone smoothly...let us know.

Kel has continued to gripe about the schedule--she has to get up at 6 a.m.

(vs. 8 up until this year) which really has messed up her plan of going to

bed later, since now she's older.

Take care,

Kathy R. in Indiana

Our big day went swimmingly - thank you for asking. I couldn't agree more

about those " benchmark " days. My Annie, the tearful, pale, shaking, panicky

little kid just a couple of years ago, ran out the door to meet her friend (a

boy!

ohmygosh) and they walked to middle school together, happy as could be. She

loved every minute of it, including getting lost. Made lots of friends, loves

her teachers, etc. She came with me to the elementary school to meet her little

brother later, and I watched her greet all her old teachers - the ones who

called me about her every day in second and third and fourth grade... It is

truly

amazing to see them function like normal kids, isn't it?? It made me a little

teary-eyed too.

I hope Kel continues to have a good year, and gets used to the early hour -

we were pretty stunned by the 6 a.m. alarm this morning too!! It's going to be

kind of rough on all of us!
