It's my understanding that many kids w/autism use the Epsom salt baths as more of a form to get magnesium and help with thier sulfer needs. It's a complicated process, I know that these have worked for my dd, and others as well, I'm just not well versed enough to give you exact info - I might say something stupid so I'd rather you get it from someone who can give you a more exact science of it. Karyn, Mom to 4.6 yoa, dx'd severely autistic, hypotonia, APD, GF/CF, SCD 5 mths epsom salt This may be a dumb question but what does epsom salt and baking soda baths do? It turns out that sulphates are absorbed more easily through the skin than by taking them internally. And it also turns out that defects of sulfation metabolism are present in many people with autism. There is also a lot of magnesium in epsom salts, but magnesium is absorbed better internally.
