Guest guest
(and Misty) You sound adrenal to me , but everybody does. I do think you probably over did it. You need to walk for a few days. The just barely jog for a few minutes, then walk some more. Ease into it, after being off for a year. But that "completely trashed to the core" feeling? is a no cortisone thing, I believe. That's what happened to me too. And you know, on all the thyroid med inserts/instructions, it tells the Drs that adrenal stuff should be checked before thyroid meds are given. I read it too. But I didn't either. I think anyone who's been thyroid-sick for any length of time is going to have substantial adrenal fatigue. If I were to "coach" somebody about the whole schpeil, I'd start'em on the cortisone 5mg 4Xday, the same time they started on armour (30 mg 2X day, and increase a little armour every 2 or 3 weeks, thus giving the adrenal/cortisone stuff a "head start" sort of, since it'll take a while to get the armour adjusted, you can be strengthing your adrenals while the armour builds up/soaks in??). Maybe some adrenal glandulars and DHEA. And whatever Shomon takes. She has a "what takes" article somewhere on her site. Or you can spend a year of jackin around with these doofus Drs, who are never, ever gonna let YOU tell them anything about anything. I know there's exceptions, but you're really unlikely to find one. Look how much better is, and she works in the medical field, and I know she didn't want to self-treat. But she's a different person this fast because she took charge of her own health. Go for it, you'll be glad you did. Ben Thank you Ben & quick question for all Thank you for posting all that info, Ben. I hope I have time to read it all before it gets deleted. If not, I guess I can always go to the website, huh? There's a lot of good stuff in there. Gee, the more I find out about it, the more I think I should be on adrenal support.Does anybody know if exercise intolerance is a sign of adrenal fatigue? I tried just a bit of water aerobics yesterday after over a year of no exercise (can't help it!) and although it felt great at the time, afterwards I was extremely exhausted, shaky, and felt a big stress reaction that's hard to explain (like as if I've been screaming all day or something, I often feel that way at work or if I'm stressed at home).Have a good weekend everybody! Guest guest
If you're talking about this , Ben, you are right, I certainly did NOT want to self treat. I simply felt like I had no other options and was going down fast. I was miserable and knew that I wasn't likely to be able to afford Dr. Right, at this time, even if he/she was only an hour's drive away. Then, there's the thing about wasting what precious money I have on a possible "no go", while I go to the poor house and the doc goes to Hawaii or wherever on what I (and certainly a lot of other people) forked over to him/her. It had to be now, because I was very sick, most of the time. How did I keep working to now? Sheer will, I think, I can't immagine how really. Guest guest
Just because you feel sick enough to die, don't mean you will. Even sick enough to want to die, don't mean you will either. And if I'm stuck with livin, well I GOTS to get some relief. Too cowardly to jump off of some bridge, and hell, I'd probably just end up hurtin myself, and feelin even mo worse. Once you're there, you'll self-medicate. I just hate to see, one after another, these people coming to these forums and just going through the "take a year to understand" process. Or the find a Dr mode. Month after month, waiting, all the same, inevitably ending up where they could have been in one sentence. "Take armour, and maybe a skunch of cortisone, and whatever Shomon takes". You could hand out that perscription, carte blanche, and do better than 90% of the docs do for their thyroid patients. And the only ones you'd kilt, would be the one's who were the "hell, ifin 30 mgs makes me feel better... then the whole bottle is REALLY gonna feel good" types. And Carlin talked about, how the kids who "ate too many marbles died off", when he was a kid? And do really want the peole who "ate too many marbles, to be around to screwup the gene pool"? Natural selection, armour thyroid style? Dat's da oinkin ticket. Ben Re: Thank you Ben & quick question for all (and Misty) You sound adrenal to me , but everybody does. Guest guest
Um... kinda like a sandwich? Cat > oooh, there I am, star billing, right between Jan and (the real helpers of many), in a " thanks " letter! But basically, I'm just repeating things I learned from them. But, you're certainly welcome. > > Ben
