Hi ,

Thank you so much for your support!! The one thing that does help is

knowing other people in similar situations. It seems that this week

my dd has had problems with 2 friends. So, she is getting together

with another one (from another school) for Halloween. This girl has

a sister with ADHD and tends to be more tolerant than many other kids.

I hope it goes well! I will try to coach her (good idea) beforehand,

for as long as she is receptive to listening.

One of the things the psychiatrist is concerned about is the

stimulants making her more anxious and the OCD worse. How stabilized

was your daughter's OCD when she started Concerta? I am wondering if

my dd's is not good enough yet. She started some good ERP at the end

of spring and has made progress. The things she is working on now

seem really hard to kick with ERP. For example, she gets really

moody and controlling of her brother. When getting ready to go out

anywhere or get ready for bed, she needs us involved or she just

doesn't do it. Many reminders, limits, etc...It is totally

exhausting! I do most of the helping because I am home and I am

burnt. I need to step out of it more again, I realize. I will talk

to her later and we have an appt. with the therapist on Monday.

I just MADE her make her own EasyMac on her own. A little argument

of course, but she did it. She doesn't want to be independent. And

the biggest problem is that she gets extremely angry when you make

her do something that she doesn't want to. Is this OCD or just

stubborness? She is so head-strong.

Your daughter is 14 now? How was she at 11 1/2? I wonder how much

maturity helps. The therapists thinks she needs meds for

ADD/inattentive, too. She is also on lexapro (15mg). Maybe I'll

have to call the p-doc again. And I know that I have to back off and

take care of me more. This is all compounded by the fact that my ds

has special needs too. Agh!!!! I think I need a margarita! Thanks
