Guest guest
I found this doctor through the American College for the Advancement of Medicine web site. Imagine my delight when I discovered his office is only 4 minutes from my house! I'm not nearly ready to recommend him, but he shows great promise. Plus, he also accepts Tricare and had his receptionist check with the lab he prefers to use to make sure they also accept Tricare. So far so good. Guest guest
It's always nice to hear there's a good doctor around, raises my hopes. Hurray for you ! Nature-Throid? I saw a new doctor today who actually listened to me and is totally in tune with my desire to use bio-identical hormones and natural thyroid. In fact, he says all the synthetic stuff is "crap." He even gave me a print-out about the FDA action against Synthroid, which, of course, I already knew about anyway. I was amazed. However, he did say something else that surprised me. He says he no longer prescribes Armour because some of the substances used to process it, including a coating made from corn syrup, can cause allergic reactions. I never heard that about Armour before. Instead, he prescribes Nature-Throid and Westhroid. I know from reading posts here that several of you are on Nature-Throid and was wondering how you are doing with it? Also, when I told him that my previous doctor refused to order any hormone testing whatsoever, when I told her I didn't want the conventional synthetic HRT, he raised his eyebrows and wrote out orders to test all of my hormones, among other things. There are about 25 things listed on my orders, including ferritin (which no one has ever checked before), and he ordered an ultrasound of my thyroid because I do have a multinodular goiter. It's been about three years since that was checked, because my previous doctor didn't think it was necessary. I have high hopes for this doctor. I personally think it has a lot to do with the fact that he was schooled in Europe, and he spent several years in pathology and research. He seems to think that most conditions and diseases can be attributed to viruses, bacterial infections, parasites, Lyme's disease, heavy metals and other environmental factors. That's exactly what I've been reading about for the last couple of years, and it was so refreshing to be able to talk to someone about some of the research studies who doesn't just roll their eyes at you. I know y'all know what I'm talkin' about! Fingers crossed.
Guest guest
Forgot to add that I am now on Naturethroid, as a matter of being forced to, since I'm self treating and can't find nonprescription Armour anywhere. The truth is that Armour actually has less fillers in it than Naturethroid does, but yes, the sugar is probably unnecessary for the product. I'm doing the same on it as I was on Armour and am gradually improving. Nature-Throid? > I never heard that about Armour before. Instead, he prescribes Nature-Throid and Westhroid.
