Hi Texas L!

Are those last labs Free testing or are they Totals? It should be on your

lab papers. I can tell that the very first panel is the Frees testing, but

I also see a lot of TSHs in between, showing that you or the doc have not

truly known much about your thyroid situation for quite some time. How do

you feel, that's probably the greater question? Have you ever had testing

to see about your coritsol? What type of diet do you have for your

diabetes? Was your diagnosis Hashimoto's and have you had antibodies

testing done for this?

HI ,

well as you can tell, I am confused once again, and dont understand

these new numbers. they scared me at first, but I guess they are

right in the middle so maybe they are normal.

my DR is a PA, so not sure he'll know what to do w ith this info.

last time he told me to just stay at the dose I was on.

I was diagnosed hypothyroid almost 2 yrs ago...but I went for about 4

years untreated even tho I was suffering with the hypo.

it just took them that long to decide if I needed any meds, it wasnt

til my hair fell out that they took it seriously.

anyway.........

no, no testing for cortisol.

oh lord, diet for my diabetes.. well I am following a very low carb

plan, but its still making me sick. seems like everything makes me

sick.

I can eat a green salad and hit 239 easily.

basically I am to have 2 eggs at breakfast, 1 cheese stick at mid

morn snack, a salad at lunch,. 1 cheese stick at afternoon snack, and

then for dinner I get grilled chicken and green beans.

I get the same thing every day.. and its soooooo boring !!! ugh.

but see, I was hypoglycemic all my life, with an average 40 BG. it

rarely got above 60. its just the way I was. then it changed to

diabetes a few years ago.. but I was left untreated and told to diet..

I have only been on glucophage 4 months and its not working.

my after meal sugar is still 200-269 with 500 mg glucophage.

I find now if my sugar hits 159 I start feeling a little off. if it

goes to 163 I start getting so sleepy I cant stay awake, I start

getting a headache and anything above that and I cant function. yet

I have a friend who can work, run errands and do things when his

sugar was at 400. I dont understand that at all. 160 makes me very

sick 200 makes me deathly ill, and he can function at 400. of course

NOW he is on 2 insulin shots a day. but me, well I am still very very

sick. I see DR on 14th, and I just dont under stand these results...

I want to know what they mean..from people who have been there or

experienced this, other wise he'll say everything looks fine keep

that dose. but I want to be sure I am being treated properly,

because something else is making me very sick and they just cant find

it. too many people I know who are diabetic are not as sick as I am.

they keep saying something else is wrong. but what ?? we dont know.

any way.. for the TSH and T3 T4..... this is what the paper shows....

T3 uptake 30.76 (24.6-39.1)

T 4 total 8.5 (6.5-10.5) MCG/DL

Free Thyroxine index 8.2 (6.0-11.4)

TSH 3rd generation 2.815 (0.35-5.50)MCIU/ML

it looks like my numbers are right in the middle....so is that good ??

I have not seen numbers like that before , so at first it scared me.

but it might be I am just not understanding it.

I went to healthcheck USA for my lab work.

a lot of things were out of range this time... things were up from

last years tests but I dont know why yet.

like my potassium is up and my sodium is up, but I dont know if thats

good or bad or why they are.

chloride and phosphorus are up. uric acid is up. alkaline

phosphatase is up. globulin is up. cholesterol went up. RBC is up,

MCHC and RDW are low but out of range.

but I have been very very sick this year., so I hope the DR can

help me, but I would like to be able to walk into his office, with

some idea what my tests mean and so when he discusses my treatment, I

will know what he's talking about, or be able to discuss with him any

options I should try.

so of course any input from ya'll will really help me.....

I feel like ya'll know more than the Drs , and I can get better

answers here :))

no no one has ever said anything to me about hashimotos, and or

antibodies. so dont have a clue on those things.

thanks for any help ya'll can give. I appreciate it.

Thanks for your help !!!
