Karyn,

What is OoO and GSE (Grape Seed Extract?) and could you elaborate on the "tons" (what and how much) of probiotics.

Thanks!

I must say that Andy's protocol is a nice cautious one and a good one to start with. Just have to watch out for the yeast issues with the DMSA.

We have had pretty good results with controlling yeast issues. For us it's been things like OoO and GSE, tons of probiotics and SCD. When we chelate we have to start a yeast protocol by day 2 bc it begins to get out of control, however, by the 2nd day after the round she is back on track. Just something that works for us.

OoO - Oil of Oregano and GSE - GrapeFRUIT seed extract. What I mean by tons - on a an average day w/o flare ups I'd say she takes about 3 - 6 pills per day. When we have a flare up, I have to get it under control pretty quickly (dd isn't potty trained yet, SD scared the hell out of her and she is now aversive to the bathroom). I'd say 12 or more daily and some yeast flush. Yeast flush meaning something like Aqua Flora or something really potent to get her gut back in check quick. AF is not SCD legal, but works and works well, so I use it when I need to, especially during chelation.

As far as the parasites and things, the GSE and OoO can be used for those as well, but I think it's only certain ones. There is a rx for some worms - I can't remember what kind, but it's not uncommon for kids to get this, aven typical kids, I use this a few times a year for bacteria and parasites. I'll have to get the info on it and pass it on.

Thanks so much Karyn. I've just started using small amounts of kefir on me and my daughters. I think I'm getting more die off then they are. What probiotics do you use? Right now I use culturelle (this of course is SCD illegal and I've considered trying the diet so I'd like to find something 1) SCD legal and 2) not as expensive). Isn't OoO and GSE good for parasites too? Thanks Again!Darla
