I've had blood work done twice in about one month.

The first doctor thought I needed to see an edocrinologist, NO!

I went to Healthcheck USA for a second round of testing.

I've just received the results today.

I'd like to know your opinions before I take it to my regular thyroid

Doc.

July 27, 2004

TSH - .004 * (.350 - 5.500)

Total T3 - 416 * (60 - 181)

Total T4 - 11.2 * (4.5 - 10.9)

Sept.2, 2004

TSH - .010 * (.35 - 5.50)

Total T4 - 5.5 * (6.5 - 10.5)

T3 Uptake - 30.89 (24.4 - 39.1)

Free Thyroxine Index - 5.4 * (6.0 - 11.4)

Triiodothyronine Free - 2.6 (2.3 - 4.2)

Free Thyroxine T4 - 0.8 (0.8 - 1.8)

Anti-Thyroglobulin AB - 133 * (<40 IU/ML)

Antithyroid Peroxidase - 347 * (<35 IU/ML)

>>>>>>It's these last two tests I'm really not sure what they mean.

I really need help here!!

It looks to me like the first doc thought I was hyper. But by

looking at the lastest tests, I'm still low.

Please let me know your opinions, there's a wealth of knowledge out

there!!

Thanks, Judy

Your tests are a perfect example of why we should NEVER let the doctors go by those older "total" tests! Obviously for you, they were dead wrong. The last 2 tests are for antibodies which says you have both the Hashi's and Graves antibodies. With those antibodies all your tests will be skewed especially the TSH. From your free levels, I would say you need more Armour.

Hey !! Good to hear from you! So both Graves and Hashi's.

Never considered those before. Guess it's a good thing they did

those tests too. I've got to do lots more reading!! I don't know

anything about those two. Seems to have both is a contradiction?

But yes, my Armour was cut when she added the T3 SR. I get very

tired late afternoon if I don't take the T3 soon enough. Thanks so

much for your help. Judy

Despite your low TSH (which is why it shouldn't be used to monitor the

thyroid hormones), your Free T3 and Free T4 are entirely too low, and you

are still hypo. If you're feeling great, then don't worry about it. I

don't see how, though. The last two tests being too high, mean that you

have Hashimoto's Disease.
