Guest guest
>> The Atkins diet, which allows unlimited consumption of protein and fat but drastically limits carbohydrates and does not restrict calories << This is SUCH a lie. Why do they persist in saying this? NOTHING is " unlimited " on the Atkins plan. Not protein, not fat, not calories. Sigh. Christie

What is a bummer about this info? I get all of the above symptoms (except diarrhea and rashes) on a low-carb diet. Other people do great. I still eat a lower carb diet than a SAD eater but can't do an Atkins plan without feeling seriously funky. Have tried at least four times for at least two weeks at a time. Guest guest
>> Have tried at least four times for at least two weeks at a time. << Elaine, there is a HUGE difference between someone trying something, or making a reasoned and dispassionate evaluation of something, and deciding it's not for them, and the kind of ill-informed propaganda - there is no other word for it - that goes on with regards to not just Atkins but all kinds of nutritional information. My personal feeling is there is nothing wrong with pointing out potential pitfalls of Atkins, as long as it's factual information presented in a balanced way. This article makes a meager but fairly typical attempt at being balanced, but falls woefully short of being " factual. " Christie
