The doc I work with is big on using temp as one of his diagnostic

criteria for hypothyroidism. Of course this is probably related tot

he fact that HIS temp was in the 95s and 96s until he treated his

hypo. He often says he went to a poor med school and as a result

they had to actually look at the patient to make a diagnosis instead

of relying on labs.

,

Can you tell us which Dr. you work for? Is that allowed? You say

such good things about him, I have seen them regularly, and if he is

anywhere near me, and on my insurance plan, I'm thinking maybe....

I think you got your " who " question answered but to clarify we do

not process any insurance claims. We give you all the codes, etc on

the bill that you need to file yourself. That is how we keep costs

down and can offer our $79 exam + labs for thyroid. So far about

half our patients have insurance and none have reported problems

self filing.

I started coming to these boards so I could learn more about thyroid

issues. Even though he takes meds in my 25 yrs as an RN I worked

ICU and Recovery. Thyroid wasn't an issue and I thought you just

gave people Synthroid and they got better. Silly me. Then when I

saw all the people like Holly who were desparate for someone to look

at THEM and not a piece of paper I had to start speaking up.

But I'm trainable.
