Guest guest
Hi. I don't know if this will be helpful but I went to Dr. Shapiro about ten years ago. I think I was about 15 or 16. I don't know anything about her med or lab philosophy but I do recall that I didn't care for how withdrawn and aloof she seemed to be. That could just be me. My dad likes her alot but I prefer to feel like the person I've made an investment in has invested in me. Sort of a more caring personal attitude. Hope you find someone with more pertinent info. Good luck Misty > >Reply-To: Texas_Thyroid_Groups >To: Texas_Thyroid_Groups >Subject: anyone know Dr. Lorie Shapiro or Dr. Brown in Houston? >Date: Thu, 08 Apr 2004 16:08:56 -0000 > >I have an appt with Dr. Shapiro next week and want to know if anyone else has consulted her . . . > Free up your inbox with MSN Hotmail Extra Storage! Guest guest
I was diagnosed as hypo a few weeks back with Dr. Shapiro. I thought she was great. My regular Dr recommended her - because she sees shades of gray, instead of black an white. That was definitely true in my case. My TSH came back at 2.3 (normal range), but she said that I had enough symptoms to warrant going thru the TRH test. Those results came back within two days and her staff called me at work to give me the results, call in my prescription, and gave me advice on how to take the meds. I thought this was great - no doc appt needed just to give me the results. I thought she was friendly and listened. I've had all of my other doctors tell me that my symptoms were either vanity (weight gain - and yup, I ditched that Dr in a hurry) or stress. She actually took my symptoms seriously and did a full investigation. I've also got a few coworkers who see her and love her as well. Good luck! > I have an appt with Dr. Shapiro next week and want to know if anyone else has consulted her . . .
