Guest guest
HI Debbi, I sure know what you mean about finding a doctor who works with kids. It is not an easy thing to do and we live in Temecula (Riverside County) and have two daughters in LA so I know what you mean about LA traffic. We do drive over an hour to see our doctor who is at UCSD Medical Center in San Diego. I know that's too far for you the other direction. There was just no one closer who knew about our son's disorders. I called UCLA's OCD clinic and asked them if they knew of anyone. I would call an OCD Clinic in LA and ask if they knew of anyone closer for you. At one point our son was in such bad shape (less than a year ago) that our doctor at UCSD actually recommended that we consider sending to an intensive treatment program, but again, there were no adolescent programs (our son is 16) close at ALL!!! We were going to have to go to Texas or Pennsylvania or somewhere pretty far away and it would cost a LOT and our insurance would cover very little. Fortunately, we saw the doctor weekly and our son made great improvements so we didn't have to go farther with that. Good luck with this!! Sincerely, Ann > I am still searching for a pdoc. Guest guest
Debbie, I am new to this board...trying to figure out how it works.. once a while ago I tried to help a young teen girl find a doctor in her area...and did lots of calling and Dr. Gordon came up. Don't know anything about him, or if the young girl called. He is in Upland....and I think he also sees patients in an other area close by. It may be worth a call. I live in Los Angeles, where there is an abundance of confusion...and I am still just in shock at how this came out in my own teen son. Good luck. Dr. Gordon He is there Monday, Wednesday, Friday.... office is at Foothill and Mulberry in Upland Take Care, Judith > I am still searching for a pdoc.
