OK, Here we go!!! I thought I was set. I went to see a Dr. in Shreveport, LA (4 hour drive 1-way - we live in Baton Rouge, LA)he wrote a prescription for my son (now 9 months old) to get the DOC Band. (My ped. Did a referral for me but he was VERY reluctant!) Then we went to Dallas to get the measurements (only b/c my ins. requires it!!!) I have an appointment next Monday to be casted in Houston (closest for us) and now I'm just finding out that the specialist I saw in Shreveport is not an Aetna provider and I think I have to have an Aetna provider prescribe the DOC Band. I can go to another Dr. in Houston for a script. but that will push us back and I feel like I'm running out of time!!! Has anyone else had success with Aetna? Was the prescribing Dr. an Aetna provider? Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Subject: tricare needs to rethink what they pay for

To all of you who are fighting Tricare. I am about to

start the battle with tricare as well and from reading

the emails some of you have sent out on tricare I see

that they do not want to pay for the band.

I have a 14 month old daughter who needs the band. We

are military. We are waiting for her doctor to right

the referral so we can go to Tricare and start the

approval process. I have recently found out that

Tricare will pay for tummy tucks but they don't want

to pay for the band. Is it me or is that wrong.

Tummy tucks are cosmetic. If they will pay for tummy

tucks why won't they pay for the band. I have also

found out there is a long waiting list to have this

surgery done because so many people want to have it

done.

Has any one who is dealing with Tricare gone through

the steps of getting the referal from the doctor

before going to get the band process started? How

have many of you started the process with Tricare?
