Guest guest
are you sure it's not a candida rash? here are some pictures, which of course are quite severe (they always use pictures of the worst case): http://images.google.com/images?sourceid=navclient & ie=UTF-8 & oe=UTF-8 & q=candida+r\ ash if that's what it is, then you treat the candida, not the rash itself - that's just a symptom. do you have a naturopath? if not, we can help -katja At 07:52 PM 5/14/2004, you wrote: >Hi, > >I was wondering if someone could help me. Guest guest
Kay, Red, blistery and not responding to your regular treatment for diaper rash could be a yeast infection. I have 5 children and only one of them ever had a yeast infection like that. -----Original Message----- From: Kay [mailto:gunnarsgirl@...] Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me. My 11 mos old son has what I thought was a diaper rash but could possible be a heat rash or something else in his diaper area. It is beat read and blistery. There is something called " triple paste " AKA " miracle butt paste " at the hospital. It works! You have to mail order it, but it works for just about anything in that general area. It kills fungus, bacteria or whatever. Our 2nd had major problems in that area because he was on antibiotics so much. http://www.anyotc.com/index.asp?PageAction=MFGSEARCH & ManfID=219 & Page=1 THEN we discovered kefir. He gets a lot of that now, and even when he has to be on antibiotics (I don't like them either, but it is a complicated situation and I don't have all the answers yet) he doesn't get problems. I think the issue is basically fungal/yeast ... if you find the root problem then that is good, if not, kefir or triple paste ... -- Heidi Jean >
Guest guest
hi the best remedy for diaper rash/heat rash i've ever tried is something my mother taught me. put baking soda (not powder) - a handful or so, enough to make the water feel silky - into a shallow bath (just needs to be deep enough to cover the rash area) several times a day. this brings the skin PH back to normal. it always gives relief right away and completely eliminated the problem within about 24 hrs. my mother also taught me to put vaseline or something after the bath (on dry skin) to provide a protective seal, but i never did care for that and i don't think it's good for the skin (it can't breathe). what i preferred was just to rinse baby off under plain running water after each pee/poop and keep the area as dry as possible and allow them to be naked as much as possible.
