Dear being besieged by all of us:I can't look at the list, as don't have Excel at this point. My address may be correct (or not).  Guinn MDLLC 1306 Rio Grande NW, Suite BAlbuquerque NM 87104office phone: .I don't want an email address on the list, especially not in USA Today- couldn't even handle 3 hits, let alone the umpteen thousand got on his website. In fact, I'd be fine with just a name and city in USA Today as my practice is closed. . .Thanks,  Actually, I'm the one who compiled the list, and although I promised to have an updated list at the beginning of this year, I obviously haven't done so yet. Part of the problem is that there has been a LOT of new people posting on this listserve, of which there are easily over 100 posters, both regular and irregular. The other problem is that not everyone who posts here has an actual practice following the principles of the Ideal Micropractice model. To Pamela and (and everyone else)Thanks for the contact info. Surprisingly, I already had a lot of your info but it just hadn't been updated yet. For those closed to new patients (which includes me), I think it would be beneficial to our cause to show the readers of USA Today that there are more than just a handful of Ideal Micropractice doctors, and to show that this is a legitimate movement towards a better type of medicine. Hopefully it will generate interest from both patients and our present and future colleagues. Plus it may make your existing patients appreciate you even more when they see how "cutting edge" of a doctor you are. By a rough guestimate, I count 40 confirmed and active IMPs from my database of 120 names. There may be others who just haven't posted in a while, but I also know some practices have folded. :-( SetoSouth Pasadena, CA Hi ,  I am wary about putting my name on the list as my patient panel is full and I have a huge waiting list.  If you think it makes sense you can add me as I do conform to the "ideal micropractice LOVE my job model of cutting edge medical practice" (but I do NOT need patients - I DO need other doctors!! my big goal is to recruit doctors by showing them how much fun I am having!) PamelaPamela Wible, MDFamily & Community Medicine, LLC3575 st. #220 Eugene, OR 97405roxywible@...www.idealmedicalpractice.orgOn May 3, 2006, at 7:03 PM, Seto wrote: Actually, I'm the one who compiled the list, and although I promised to have an updated list at the beginning of this year, I obviously haven't done so yet. If you can take this on, it would be great. My timeline is

" hopefully by the day USA Today runs the article. "

Supposed to be mid May, but I don't know the date.

Here's the list with the corrections I've made, but I've not kept up with

the past 72 hours of posts due to travel.

I did have a great dinner with Eads in Denver.

She's doing great and has great news to tell about being paid for virtual

visits by an insurer.

Actually, I'm the one who

compiled the list, and although I promised to have an updated list at the

beginning of this year, I obviously haven't done so yet. Part of the

problem is that there has been a LOT of new people posting on this

listserve, of which there are easily over 100 posters, both regular and

irregular. The other problem is that not everyone who posts here has an

actual practice following the principles of the Ideal Micropractice

model. Some work in a traditional office or salaried position, but are

curious to find out more. Others are planning to start their own

practices but haven't done so yet. So I will definitely include everyone

who has asked to be on the list so far. It would be helpful to include as

much contact info as you would like potential patients to have, such as

telephone numbers, a public e-mail address (if you use that with

patients) and website addresses. I will not automatically assume that the

e-mail address you use to post on this listserve is the one that you want

to give out to patients.

Gordon, when do you need the list by? And please don't say,

" Yesterday " .

Gordon, Please add me to

the list: I can't wait for someone to try to find Drain on

the map. I'll see the ones who find me.

I asked to be put on your list last fall: the

list on your website hasn't been updated since then. You must be

terribly busy.

,In my database, I have been keeping track of when practices opened (if it was mentioned in their posting) and if they are closed to new patients. If people don't say they are closed, I assume they are still open to new patients. I did set up a database on the Practice Improvement website where physicians can enter their own demographic information, but there are only 14 names in the database, I assume because people weren't aware of it. Most people interact through the listserve and not the website, if they even know about the website at all. For those who don't know, the website address is: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group//. At some point, I will post this larger database on the website.Since you must be a member of the Practice Improvement group in order to even access the database, it provides a filter to prevent just anyone from posting their information. On the other hand, it is not accessible to the public. For those people who have been posting regularly to the listserve, this demonstrates to me that these people are serious about the principles of practice improvement/ideal micropractices/LOVE (low overhead volume employment) and I have no problem adding their names to the database. Sometimes I even do a Google search and find practice information that way. For example, if I find that you have a website that promotes the concepts of personalized care (as opposed to just listing an address and phone number), then I feel even better about adding your name to the database.I do have some concerns that as this kind of medical practice becomes more well-known, others may view this as a marketing opportunity and claim that they are also an IMP type of practice when they really aren't. Would it be readily apparent to patients if they went to such a practice? I'm not sure. There is no set criteria on what defines "cutting edge care", although there are some common traits:1. Same day access2. Easy accessability3. Low overhead4. Technologically advancedMaybe someday we'll have an actual certification process. In the meantime, anyone who says they can adhere to the principles outlined by Gordon in an earlier posting can be listed in the database. Besides, patients will find out soon enough if their doctor doesn't follow these principles.Principles:I will see you todayI will see you on timeI will give you 24/7 access to me (through email, pager/cell)I will give you access to excellent information (e.g. the HowsYourHealth portal)I will help you reach your best health potential  SetoSouth Pasadena, CAGordon and ,I know this is minor and certainly I don’t think it needs to be in the information given to USA Today, but in looking at the list, I would be interested in knowing when each of these practices opened and if they are currently accepting new patients. The reason is that as the list continues to grow, and my patients move to other areas of the country, I would like to refer them to someone who has a similar practice philosophy. Also, for ease of data input, is there a way to centrally post the list so the docs can input their own information or is this just inviting hordes of docs to add their names to the list because they kind of think they may in some ways agree with what we are doing?-----Original Message-----From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of L. :-( SetoSouth Pasadena, CAHi ,  I am wary about putting my name on the list as my patient panel is full and I have a huge waiting list.  If you think it makes sense you can add me as I do conform to the "ideal micropractice LOVE my job model of cutting edge medical practice" (but I do NOT need patients - I DO need other doctors!! my big goal is to recruit doctors by showing them how much fun I am having!)
