kombucha question

Hey Pat~~~

The answer is quite possibly; it seems to take awhile to get it going if it

does end up working. I've had a couple of friends try this and I'm recalling

that one had a success and the other had a flop. I suppose it just depends

on the amount of bacteria you're starting off with that makes all the

difference.

To save you the time it may take to get it going, just let me know when

you'll be at the warehouse next and I'll have one of my scoby's dropped off

for you with the starter liquid.

  • 3 months later...

My first batch of kombucha is coming along nicely even though my house

is definitely on the chilly side. I juiced some raspberries to add to

it. Now the question is, how much raspberry juice to how much kombucha?

Thanks, :-)Pat Z.

MMMMMMM..... raspberry kombucha, my favorite!

I have added the smashed whole berries, about 2-3 tablespoons to each bottle.

Results will vary but I found this to make the most fizzy second ferments. I

have had a couple blow outs as well. Open the bottle over the sink slowly! You

may still get a champagne-like effect!

I would start with about 1/4 cup or a bit less of the juice.

Yummm...let us all know how it turns out!
