Guest guest
HI, I was wondering if anyone is routinely exposed to aluminum at work and what can be done about it? Would epsom salt baths be any help? How about taking niacin to get a flush? Any other ideas? Thanks, Shari
Guest guest
There's some interesting research that suggests raw cilantro has a incredibly powerful chelating effect on heavy metal buildup in the body, news which I happen to love as I love cilantro (I think folks either love or hate it). So if you love cilantro too, think cilantro pesto, salsa, Thai soups, and use it as liberally as parsley. http://www.healthdiaries.com/eatthis/cilantro-chelation-therapy-heavy-metal-deto\ x.html Otherwise, there are chelation detoxing supplements available in coops, although I haven't researched them in detail. There is also blood chelation at a Dr.'s office, but this is a last resort for serious heavy metal poisoning. I don't know about epsom salts and niacin may help, but be very careful about overdosing on it and consider getting your levels checked first and not self medicating more than the RDA unless you're working with a ND or MD. ODing can be serious and has been linked with birth defects for pregnant women and can be hard on the liver. Personally, I'd also consult a good homeopath who may be able to help you counteract the toxins and I'd start doing sauna weekly unless I had a medical reason not to. And obviously, completely eliminate any voluntary exposure, such as cosmetics (esp antiperspirant deodorants), cooking pans, make sure baking power is AL free, drinking purified water, and avoid using foil on directly on food. I'm sure you can find more information on alternative autism boards for a natural approach for cleansing heavy metals, even though your concern is not mercury. Check out the D.A.N. method for more ideas.
