Just look for recipes with eggs and meats that are softer and more protien for your buck. I ate a lot of cheese eggs and soups. The things that go for one person deosn't necesarily work for others. Just watch your protein and supplement as needed. Mel Mel _http://hometown.aol.com/mdl1031/ _ (http://hometown.aol.com/mdl1031/)

Guest guest
Hey Cari Most people on this list can tell you I couldnt eat almost anything for months! I actually lived on soft fresh plums, chicken consomme and protein shakes. Just eat whatever protein you think you can handle...cheese, yoghurt, eggs, (the others will come up with more suggestions). Hang in there. I know the feeling and there is light at the end of the tunnel! Hugs Kristy
Guest guest
Cari First of all congrats on surviving the first three weeks and the drain pulling! lol. It really does continue to get better, even if it feels like FOREVER. The eating issue is something that will just have to be trial and error on your part. What works for you won't work for someone else. Go for foods that have moisture...for example chicken thighs will go down better than chicken breast because it has more moisture to the meat. Many people find they start liking steaks a little rarer than before because the meat is juicier. It just " sits " better in the stomach. A favorite early post-op dish came from a DS sister Janice. Basically it is a potato salad. But you use one potato and 6 hard boiled eggs, some mayo and what ever YOU like in your potato salad. It is a great change up from eating Meats and gives a new slant to eggs.
