hey! i tried something crazy this weekend!

i looked at a can of sardines, and though - today is the day.

so at the co-op, i got a can of the spiffiest looking wild-caught sardines

(with bones, thank you) and then i nthe asian isle, i found these cool

spring roll wraps - rice flour, tapioca flour, and water as the

ingredients, sounds ok!

so i came home and went to work. here's what i did - yum!!

some red cabbage

some green curly kale

some onion

some garlic

some pepper

some leftover beef

all chopped tiny and sauteed with lots of butter

then i minced the sardines, bones and all, and added to the mix.

then i stuffed the spring roll wraps with the mix and -- yum!

though, with those ingredients, i can't rightly call them spring rolls.

end-of-winter-rolls?

a proud consumer of sardines.

Not only dipping sauce, but wrap each one in a leaf of basil, with a

sprig of cilantro tucked inside, too.

To die for!

----> Never interested in an early death but ......spring rolls

wrapped in basil...ahhh so be it!

Do you use basil instead of the rice paper or both?
