I use big coffee filters sitting in a metal strainer. A dish towel works too.

I agree bags are hard to wash ... I have one mesh bag I use for making " juice "

for kefir-beer, but it doesn't hang very long and it is a wider mesh.

I expect it would work just fine, except that it doesn't have much

capacity. My Yogourmet can make a half gallon of yoghurt at a time. The

Donvier strainer can only strain 3 cups at a time, but IMO the tradeoff is

well worth it since the bag is such a pain in the neck. But a coffee

filter can probably only hold half that, though I'm not sure, and it's not

so easy to stick in the fridge. The Donvier is a fairly small box you just

stick in the fridge while it's straining. I do wish the box were glass,

though, instead of plastic.

I use a BIG strainer and three BIG coffee filters. I don't put

it in the fridge though.
