Have you been to www.realmilk.com? there is a comprehensive listing there of

all state

laws regarding raw milk sales...under " What's Happening? " I think it is...

Dr. Ron's book "The Untold Story of Milk" has a state by state listing of the legality of milk sales in Appendix 1.

It wouldn't be hard to transform this information in a spreadsheet style that we could post on a website.

Take a look and let me know what you think.

Thanks

Dear Fred,

I live in AZ. I have heard a few different things.

1. Apparently we are allowed to sell raw milk, but only if

the dairy passes the inspection guidelines for a Grade A

Dairy. From what I understand, even the goat dairy that

could pass as Grade A can't get certified to sell raw milk

legally. It seems that the interpretation of the laws

change from one inspector to the next or something like

that.

2. I've been told we can sell raw milk if it is for pet

consumption only, *and* it has to be colored grey.

3. I've actually downloaded and printed out the laws for

selling dairy legally in AZ, but I find them very confusing

and I don't recall actually reading in that document about

coloring the milk grey.

Then there is apparently something about " cottage industry "

rules which may or may not apply to AZ.

Uh, I guess I haven't been of much help.

Starlene,

We just moved from AZ. We were quickly becoming friends with a organic dairy

farmer who believed in raw, but did not sell it. He has become fairly

successful in the organic market, but had hopes of selling raw... the

dairymen's association basically told him that ( although it is legal), if

he did they would shut down ALL of his dairy. Nice, huh?

ACK. Kind of crazy. They say it's legal but it's not really legal.
