Well, I'm an idiot (it's obvious from that zero post)!

I'm going to start again:

Hey, :

I'm been using chewable Centrums since surgery and I am beginning to

get yucked-out by the taste. What are you taking now? The liquid?

Marta:

You mean I've been been spending waaaaaay too much on calcium? Do

you think that the Viactive is comparable to the other stuff? Is

the Viactive (sp) citrate or carbonate?

Melinda, it is carbonate. There isn't a great difference in the

absorption of calcium between the two forms. You can take your

calcium with orange juice, it makes an acid environment for better

absorption. Or you can be like me and just take it with coffee or

whatever. I figure if I am getting it in, that is what counts.

None of it will be absorbed if you don't drink them in the first

place, lol.

When I start getting sick of the taste, I switch to kids gumball

vitamins and chew them off and on all day, or the kids gummy bears. I

hate regular vitamins and just will not take them! Dee told us at the

preop teaching that they are fine, you just have to check to amount

of vitamins in them and adjust the dose for an adult rather than a

child.

Viactive comes in so many different flavors now, mocha, caramel,

chocolate, orange cream, strawberry cream, so I can switch between

flavors when I get sick of one and I like the chewy texture as well!

Cindee & Marta:

Thanks for the response, guys. I've added the Viactive & Gummybears

to my grocery list.
