Guest guest
Tracey I don't beat around the bush and tell it just like it is - reality and the truth must be accepted especially with dealing with HCV ESLD and the life or death aspects of this disease. It is nothing to play around with. We have lost far to many people becaue they were in denial of the facts or simply gave up their fight for life. I think you may be missing the most important factor about 's medical and mental health. He is an alcoholic and has already promised to stop drinking and hasn't. I doubt if he can without medical intervention or if he can stay clean and sober. His alcoholism and HCV has now become your diseases. Support him and be there for him but not at the cost of destroying yourself and all your other relationships. You need to accept the facts that will not stop drinking and alcohol and the HCV is reaching ESLD and at a faster pace becuase of his drinking. Dr's can look at a patient and tell the long term affects of alcohol or illegal drugs and it all shows with labs and is a major factor in someone's overall health and mental clarity. will not be a candidate for trmt. meds until he is clean and sober or considered a cooperative patient because he is killing himself faster with all the booze and may now not be in good enough health to be on the meds. Being a candidate for transplant is definitely out of the question until a long sobriety if reached and maintained and does he have that long to wait ?????? Many other health factrs also comes into play. That's the facts and the truth Honey and you have your own health and well being to also consider. We are here for whatever and whenever you need us. Love and Hugs. Take Care and God Bless. Deb Thanks so much for that bit of reality! I've been praticing tough love as of Monday! You are among the greatest! {{Deb!}}
