Guest guest
Hi , I called the 888 - Sculptra number for and the . The first number referred me to a voice mail that said to call back, the program is being set up. The second number, I believe is an activist group to help PWA and a really compassionate woman told me that they have no info yet as to when this program will be in the works. I had submitted an application October 24, the day the program was to start. I have not heard anything.. Thank you. Steingraber
Guest guest
I wonder if there's a way to get Sculptra treatments as a participant in the training of a local doctor in the procedure. If the procedure is directly supervised by a qualified and experienced training practitioner, it might be a chance for those of us who couldn't afford it otherwise to get quality treatment - sort of like when I went to a dental school for work done at 1/2 price, in days gone by. The (graduate only) students did quality work since the instructor was over their shoulder at all times. Just an idea... They would have to be under direct guidance. I would never let someone just practice on me. I think it may be a long time before we get Medicaid or ADAP coverage, with government looking for ways to cut programs. My dr has agreed to let me be his practice patient while he gets his training. You need to talk to your Primary Care Physician and make sure you let him know about Sculpta and that you would like to be his first "test" client to practice on before he asks another one to be his pupil to learn on. The only hold up right now is Sculptra not getting intouch with him on his training. Sculptra does not seem to be moving very fast to help the HIVers out.
