Guest guest
Hi Lynn,I have always been a terrible Sweater at least now its back normal again :-).Anyhow when my disease was active in 2002 it was pretty much constant but did get worse with the Fever(which came 4 times day, could almost set your watch by it).My rash only itched when it first appeared, weirdest thing was that the Rash itself seemed to trap heat.Whenever I leaned on my back while sitting on couch, itstantly I would feel hot lean forward it would go away so weird.I did have the rash biopsied 3 times, came back Non-specific each time tested.Take care. d.Canada Informal survery sweating/rash/itching > > Hi all, > Just wondering how many out there sweat during the day like I do and not > primarily at night? Guest guest
Hi Lynn, hey I do the same thing!!! I get so cold I need blankets and then so hot I have to change my clothes. I sweet so bad. Yes I also itch and there may not even be a rash. But one last thing I also do is peal. My skin peals alot too. Only on my fingers or side of the hand. I have asked every doctor what the freezing cold then hotter then hot is and they all don't know not even my Rhumey. Then I get real hot legs. Mostly at night but they get so hot it feels like a lighter. My knees look shinny but not really very red but all the leg is hot, not just the knees. No one seems to know about that or the skin pealing or why I itch so much. One doctor sugested it was allergy. LOL Let me know what you find out if anything. Guest guest
I don't know if I have "the rash", but when I am in a great amount of pain, my face, forehead, neck & shoulders (sometimes chest and upper back get "purple". Sometime it is blotchy, sometimes it is solid.. As far as sweating, sometimes I sweat like hell, than freeze, although I haven't had a temperature in a month or so. I usually go to bed with wool pajamas and about 6 sheets and quilts as I am usually freezing, than I wind up waking up with most of the covers off to the side and my clothes drenched. One has to love it! Kirk (The Chronically ******!) Informal survery sweating/rash/itching Hi all, Just wondering how many out there sweat during the day like I do and notprimarily at night? Guest guest
Hi Lynn, I get the rash at intermittently. Feeling cold is more common for me than hot. I recall laying in the hospital bed being prepped for eye surgery. The nurse asked if the rash on my neck was common for me. I didn't realize a rash was on my neck, but told her rashes on various body parts is common. The rash itching is more common when it is hot. That irritates my systemic vasculitis, a different problem. It seems there are a couple others on the site who have SD & systemic vasculitis. When I first became ill and was hospitalized, they biopsied 2 separate rash sites. Neither were rashes from Stills, they were hives from vasculitis. They sent them to a lab at UCLA and the report stated positive for Lupus. No blood labs ever done on me have indicated positive for Lupus. That, and lack of knowledge from local Rheumatologists is the reason I was misdiagnosed and treated for Lupus for 10 years. Systemic Lupus cannot be diagnosed by a skin test. As far as sweats go, mine are only at night. Must be due to Lexapro. Pleasant feeling to wake up to at 3 a.m. Yuck! Peace, Barbara
Guest guest
Hi lynn, I too have sweating, it is very embarassing. and people look at you like your weird. I wish I knew why it occurs, but I don't. I also had a skin biopsy of my rash, they said it had lupusy like cells, but it wasn't lupus. (whatever that means) I think most of us with Still's know the true meaning of " practice' when it comes to Dr's. Best wishes, B
