My son is part of a project to try out a new supplement. The makers claim it has helped autistic kids. The product is called TRANSFER FACTOR. It's a 10 week trial and we started last night. The product supposedly boosts the immune system of these kids by "re-educating" the immune system. I'm not sure if I believe this yet or not but according to this nice women I am working with from Transfer Factor, the product has improved 7 out of 7 kids who tried it.

If anyone else wnats to participate, I will provide you with a contact email.

I really feel that the immune system is screwed up in these kids. Some of the kids who do not respond or respond slowly like my boy need something to improve the immune system. Autism, I believe, is not just a toxicity issue, but an autoimmune issue. Next, I will try LDN.

Hi ,

I had a flu shot when I was three to four weeks pregnant –

when cells were just dividing. I think that may be why my son is such a strong

Nonresponder. We’ve just changed from one well known DAN! doc to another

well-known DAN! doc. We have not done the Yasko panel yet. My son needs to be

stabilized medically before we can

explore Yasko. We have tried practically everything including the

Megson/Bethanecol protocol.

I know how expensive Yasko is and I haven’t

done the panel myself yet but I’m pretty sure if I had the genetic

mutation picture I might be more effective while treating my son CJ. He

is an almost “over responder” at 1st to everything which

causes him to crash. I really hope you are able to work out what’s

going on with your son, you deserve it after so much patience. When we

figure out the most difficult cases we will have more of the answers.

We've been using Transfer Factor for about a month. My nonverbal son (5 y.o.) has hard consonants and word approximations in context since starting the TF. He is not talking and I can't say there are huge "wows" but these new vocalizations are a definite positive change. We did not add or subtract anything else during this time. I'd say it took less than a week for this change to occur. For now, we are sticking with it. We are not a part of the trial nor are we associated w/the company in anyway. I heard about it on another message board from another mom whose son made verbal gains. She also was not affiliated, just a customer. Our DAN told us TF was big a few years ago amongst various DAN doctors trying it. Results were varied. Some kids made some gains, many did not.

Word of warning: there are different "levels" of Transfer Factor. The "most advanced" formula (I don't recall the name of it) contains medicinal mushrooms, herbs and OAT. So if you are GF, beware.
