Guest guest
Greetings Everyone... As Dottie explained she was/is one of the oldtimers. Those were the firdst days, when we were ALL learning what an insidious disease Stills could be. Doctors knew nothing, we knew and still know WAY more than they do ( with a few exceptions like Dr. Cush etc) Dottie would be away from the support group for awhile, come back and in no time be flattened by AOSD again, and again. Many times I feared for her life. Dottie is , thankfully a survivor, and when I saw her posts awhile ago I was thrilled to see her Aloha....made the little hairs on mah arms stand up! There ARE remissions, I'm walking proof of that, and so is Dottie...as tough as it gets and it WILL be tough, you have to believe that you are all " still standing " because there is a purpose to your lives, and you MUST believe in that concept, and in yourselves.... I've lost dear friends to this disease, or complications becasue of Stills, but every one of those sweet, dear friends were fighters and they made me proud to be thier friend then, and they make me proud now, to this day..... I have also seen friends go into a remmissive state, where the symptoms are managed, and their lives are a little or alot better...measurements have to be made in small baby steps...but..hang in, and you could be a Dottie, or so many others I could name.... Be kind to yourself, be aware of yourselves, and every nuance, no matter how insignificant...but remember to LAUGH til it HOITS..LOL Smiles and Regards Cat _________________________________________________________________ Don't just Search. Guest guest
Cat, Thank you so much for your words of wisdom. They are just what I needed tonite, after sitting down this evening and reviewing all that is left yet to do to prepare for my mom in law to come live w/us for a few months. I know I have to be good to myself and reach out to take care of Number 1! So with this in mind, I am going on a small shopping trip just for me tomorrow. and with a bit of luck a nice quiet dinner for 2 with my hubby. Some days, I wonder how I am ever going to get through the little aches, fever and what not that goes with this dragon. One thing I am learning is that I can't do it all and will have to ask for the help. And knock the daylites out of those whom think that this is still in my head. So I am off to bed to get some much needed rest before my big day tomorrow. Love and Hugs, Tracilyn
