Guest guest
Note to those who are considering having Silikon put in your face, you will> not be able to have BioAlcamid put in later. That's not exactly so ....Silikon 1000 or silskin, or what ever they are calling it nowdays has a nasty habbit of migrating with gravity. Any corrections made to faces where silicone has shifted must be understood to be at best temporary, Clinic'estetica and their doctors who use Bio-Alcamid, have informed me, that they are sensative to the needs of people distraught over the disfigurement to their faces brought on by silicone and further they have told me, they do try their best to offer solutions, but they require a informed concent form from those patients that have had silicone whick makes it clear that the Clinic cannot be held responsible for aditional migration of of the silicone. There really is no way to encapsulate such a small and slippery mollicule, regardless what the sales broshures may tell you. Al Benson Al and MIchael You guys need to let this thing go with silicone. I have not heard of one single problem with the microdropplet method. Do you know of anyone who may want to share a bad silicone microdropplet experience? If so, I would like to hear from that person. Silikon 1000 will probably end up being the cheapest option in HIV lipoatrophy and probably the next one to be approved, unless Bioalcamid moves forward faster with the community in mind at the right cost. Guest guest
Wow! I've read the recent postings about silikon migrating and shifting with dismay. I've recently had my face restored with silikon microdroplets and am very pleased with the results. Before I chose to go this route I did as much research as I could. I also consulted several doctors who use silikon, as well as spoke to many happy customers. My understanding is that like all such procedures, regardless of the product, the final result is very technique dependant. Shifting and migrating occur when silikon is improperly injected, either into the wrong areas, or in too large a quantity at one time. When properly injected, these problems have not arisen. And so I object to the blanket statements I've been reading here. As valuable as this group is, at times it becomes a sort of gossip forum for people to just throw out unsubstantiated rumors and opinions as gospel. True, we don't know the long term side effects of any of these facial treatments. But that's true of anything we take for HIV/AIDS. Based on my experience, I would urge people to look into the silikon option. Burt in NYC
Guest guest
Hi, I've had a great experience with silicone injections, but unfortunately on small area of my face it apears to be a bit too much and it is obvious. I think I and the docs got a little too aggressive with me. Has any heard of any way to remove some of the silicone or disipating it? Thanks so much, ny
Guest guest
and the Group: Thank you for bringing clarity to the silicone issue. While it is possible that migration can occur when larger volumes of silicone are injected in one place in the body, there is in fact NO evidence to suggest that migration happens when Silicon1000 is injected strictly following the protocol of a microdroplet technique using small volumes in a single treatment. Migration is not necessarily a problem with the product itself, it CAN be a problem when inadequately trained people inject a silicone product improperly. I have had microdroplet Silikon1000 in my cheeks for over almost 3 years and am still completly pleased with the results. I do not know of anyone having migration problems who had the same procedure using the same product that I did. I join in asking anyone who has a problem to share it with the Group. Anecdotal reports from possibly biased sources are really just rumors that tend to scare people trying to make an informed decision about their bodies. > ><<Original Attached>> Note to those who are considering having Silikon put in your face, you will> not be able to have BioAlcamid put in later. Guest guest
Hi I too have had several treatments with DR. Orentreich and am pleased but still need more. Who did you use, and how many treatments did you need. By the way I agree with your last statement. Everyone's experience with treatment options will always be unique so to make a blanket statement is not fare to those seeking different opinions to help in their decision process, and I like yourself do enjoy this group a great deal and have learned a lot. Thanks,
