Guest guest
Rabeck: After reading many posts over the six past months, I see things very differently than you. I have seen positive feedback from numerous persons about various products and clinics/doctors. It is only 's clinic in Tiajana that I have seen repeatedely viscously attacked. That is no doubt why some feel defensive. To begin, I don't know Ellen, haven't formed an opinion one way or another. Her posts are of no more or any less significance to me than anyone else. I don't see what all the fuss is about just because someone suggested she disclose her affiliation with the clinic in Tijuana. Based upon the testimonials I have just read about her she is obviously a person of high integrity so what is the big deal? What concerns me, and has for quite sometime about this group, is the rabid tone that some take regarding the clinic in Tijuana and Bio-Alcamid. There is a defensiveness and aggressiveness that seems unreasonable at times. For several months I tried sharing with this group my positive (remarkable) experiences with the Silskin study in Vancouver BC. (Contrary to something I just read from Al that Bio-Alcamid is the "ONLY" safe and effective permanent solution for facial wasting. Not sure what that proclamation is based on.) The response was troubling. It was like no one dared say anything positive about anything other than Bio-Alcamid. I never once said anything negative about Bio-Alcamid or Tijuana, yet the attacks on Silskin and Dr. Carruthers, started coming. I finally just gave up. It wasn't worth the drama and effort. I don't understand why it has to be this way. We are all dealing with the horrific realities of facial wasting. The stigma, emotional distress, and anxiety it causes. Why isn't it a good thing that there may be options other than Bio-Alcamid? It's almost like this group should have it's name changed from "Lipodystrophy@yahoo to Bio-Alcamid@yahoo". I don't mean this to be divisive. I am just communicating what my perceptions have been as someone who is relatively new and was trying to share openly and honestly a personal, uplifting, and meaningful experience. I soon recognized that there were many here who were not willing to let any positive comments go unchecked without trying to dispute and undermine them. Could someone please explain why it has to be that way? I ask because I find it unfortunate. My Best To You All

It is hard for me to moderate this list sometimes. I think I have an explanation for what happens in this list. I surely think that once someone has had a certain product injected in their faces, they will defend that option no matter what and justify their decisions at length by criticizing all others. The fact is that we have no long term data about ANY option. We just happen to have more people in this list that have tried BioAlcamid. I have seen great results with silicone microdroplet also, but people tend to react strongly about silicone since there has been so much negative publicity about it. I think even NewFill has a place for those with less than severe facial wasting. I welcome posts from anyone who wants to share information about any option. Do not be afraid of negative posts. Think about all the people you are helping with your experience and ignore the unhappy people that want to vent their anger and sad existence on others. Remember there are over 650 people reading these emails. Even if 1 % were troublemakers, that would be 7 people who can cause a lot of grief for others. I have rejected 80 emails this month, so you guys only see very few of what we call "bitch fights". I have left 3 email lists in the past because of negative energy and will not allow this to happen to this list, no matter who I upset with my moderation (sorry guys, this is not a democracy) I will try to keep a closer look at the negative emails. The last one went through when I was in Mexico and had left the list umoderated (I wish I was still there drinking mango margaritas under the sun) VergelDirector, Program for Wellness Restoration (PoWeR)An all volunteer non profit 501 © 3 organization.www.powerusa.orgSend an email to lipodystrophy-subscribe to join our free listserve!Subscribe to our newsletter PoWeRHealthReview by emailing Editor@... Guest guest
A lot of the problem has to do with " writing style " . When expressing an opinion, always state WHY you feel the way you do. What were your own experiences? What have you learned from others? Try to stick to the facts and leave the emotion out of it. Try to keep an open mind. Then proof-read your message before you send it. If you think it might offend someone -- it probably will. Make any changes to ensure that you are being respectful of everyone. If you are upset about something that was said, give yourself a chance to cool down before you reply. Once you hit SEND, it's too late to take something back. Let's save the " who's better " fights for football. (Go Patriots!) Glenn
