Guest guest
Hi Great to see you on the site again! Have you had a slippage and so need replacement? What has happened with you? Its daunting isn't it, but its one of those things you just know you wont want to live without. The band or even by-pass is something that is always going to be part of my life. I had a slight slippage caused by my band being too tight. I got fluid out, everything settled and then I got some more fill again. I then had a varicose vein removed. After that surgery I was particularly sick from the gas, I vomited for a few days. They think it was a combination of factors that lead to my band finally slipping badly. The band had twisted up in my stomach and it had become distended. I had a pouch of stomach that had come up thru the band and it had 2.5ltrs of fluid sitting in it. When I was operated on it was described by my surgeon as close to rupturing, if it had done that I would have bled to death. Bit gruesome, and when I think back I try and think about how I could have had a different outcome, but I don't know. I guess it is why I am so cautious these days, anything just a twinge out of place I would be back to my surgeon demanding explanation/ investigation. However that hasn't been necessary as yet, and with all my TLC I am hoping it wont be in the future. I have chosen to be just under what might be considered the `sweet spot' and I also am not concerned with weight loss just now. I am taking it easy, when it starts to warm up again I am intending on going back into my regime. I guess I am just happy and relieved to have this band again, and having the chance to use the band again, so I am relaxing and enjoying things as they come.
