Guest guest
That's not inventive... that is using up fruit that is nearly past its use by date. Learnt that when the kiddies were little. Bloody hell - I could eat all that and more, but the whole lot would come straight back up. Its a bad day today. I cannot figure it out. Maybe I have hit the jackpot with restriction this time... who knows? I feel constantly like I have eaten a 10 course Christmas dinner. I haven't had anything. But I have given in and had my banana paddle pop. Mel > > > > > > > > > > > > Stew the apples!!! Guest guest
What about my chocolate risotto. I know that there are now restaurants that do it, but I had no idea when I though I had " invented " it. I add bananas to that as well. And I have been know to make two batches to swirl together, one white chocolate, and one dark chocolate, swirled together with king island cream... Guest guest
Cherie... Make it as you would any risotto, but using warm skim milk that has had sugar to sweeten... but not too much, then melt the chocolate with a small amount of milk so that it is not too thick. I think I did it like this... haven't done it for a while 1 cup of arborio rice, about 2 1/2 cups of sweetened skim milk warmed with a vanilla pod (removed from the warmed milk), melted chocolate to taste - about 1/2 a cup chopped or grated... can use either white, milk or dark. Place about 2 tablespoons of butter in the bottom of a heavy pot, toss in the rice and stir till the rice is nicely coated and starting to simmer. Add small ladles of the milk and keep stirring... keep adding milk until the rice is cooked through, but do not add too much milk. Stop when you think it is ready otherwise it will go sloppy. Add the melted chocolate and stir through. Serve with ice cream or cream. It is also yummy with a few bananas thrown in at the end and left to just warm through. Cherie, I am sure you can whip up a risotto easily... follow the same rules as for a savoury one but using the sweetened milk and chocolate. You can do anything with this recipe... strawberries, raspberries etc etc... Mel > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Stew the apples!!!
