Yes, relax-

but ON RARE OCCASIONS the virus can mutate during a full and complete treatment.

It happened to me.

Hi Don,

Relax. I think what was being referred to was missing meds on time.

If I miss giving my kitty her insulin shot on time , it can cause a

major mess. It IS important to take the meds on time when in

treatment. And Hep C has a mind of its' own. Mine apparently has

chosen to mosey along causing NO major problems for over 40+ years.

To decide how yours is going to play out even before you have very

much information(biopsy, etc)is just adding stress for no valid

reason. A certain percentage of women get breast cancer. I have

breasts. Does that mean I will get breast cancer or if I do that mine

will be untreatable? No, but it does mean that I should get

mammograms to keep a check. Unfortunately, some get very ill with

Hep C, some less ill and some hardly ill. We rally around those who

are very ill because that is when they need our support the most. To

assume you will get very ill is jumping to conclusions. Keep cool,

get things in order and get to an MD to find out more about your

particular Hep C.

Hugs to you, SuziQ

Thank you SusiQ and

This makes me feel better. I have not done more than just the blood test showing Im positive. I want to get moved and set up hs before going further. While I wait Im reading, lurking on message boards, listening, and looking for a good doc/local hep C group. So far Ive found no grps in salina ks, but my mental health case worker said her husband has hep C. I dont know yet what he is doing about it, or what assets he would be willing to share with me[friends/knowledge].

I just had a bit of a scare there with talk of mutation.

Please all of you keep talking. I am learning.

Whilst I haven't been on treatment, I have been here a while. I get the impression that this danged virus is more likely to mutate within ones body if the person treating stops and starts treatment. This isn't a virus to play around with, if you start treatment, it should only ever be stopped before completion under a doctors supervision.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

anne, you are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT,, this virus is not one to play around with,, you either start tx and stick to it unless you end up in the hosp in the ICU with serious life threatening issues.. like did,, when you start and stop tx, it gives this sneaky virus the ability to rebound hard and mutate which makes it nearly impossible to kill.. I've watched many ppl end up stopping because they didnt 'feel well' or couldnt keep on working a job while on tx and while I know that everyone IS different and everyone's ability to tolerate the side effects are different, I would NEVER suggest anyone start tx UNLESS their doc will treat the side effects so that the person can stay ON tx and finish it.. Its certainly not one to play around with and once you start, you really should stay on and finish tx at all costs... otherwise, dont start tx... its

more dangerous to start and stop than it is to not treat at all,, thats my 2 cents,,
