a, it sounds as tho you have really thought this challenge out and are

determined to see it to the end! Good for you! This group is such a

motivational factor in keeping us all on target. I had a few tough days and

didn't read emails at all and I thought for sure when I got back on I would

have a few choice gals to answer to :). One of the areas that Bill doesn't

address specifically is the major mood swings and hormonal factors that play

head games. I know by eating right and the myoplex it should counteract the

mood swings. How did I get off on that???? Sorry, anyway, lots of success to

you. I also have a lab and just rescued a baby half shih tzu half yorkie (or

so the vet thinks) The 6 yr old lab is trying her best to ignore the puppy,

hoping that it goes away I'm sure :) cynthia

Hi Cyn,

I don't want to be out of line here, but do you think the mood swings and

hormonal activity could be due to our er....our age category? Can't honestly

say mine have been any worse (or any better!) on this program. It would be

interesting to hear if others experience the same thing too. Lean.

I have been on multiple types of interferons for 8 years both in

combo and mono therapies. I was on Infergen for 3 years in mono

treatment. I am 1a. I went from 6 million to 10 copies in a year. I

tolerate the therapies well. I am a cirrhotic with stage 3. But what

I found and is now backed up in studies that with a compromised

liver you reduce the chance of further liver problems with extended

long therapy. My blood work is normal with a billiruben of 2.5. Most

doctors that I know are happy with a 4.0. You may concider me a non

responder but to retain a stable copy level for all these years is a

triumph over the odds.

Hang in there I know there are those days when you may ask yourself

what the hell am I doing. But time may heal some of us over the

resistance of the numbers.

Rest in the fact that you are not alone.

have been dx. with HCV since last year. I am a genotype 1a, and

underwent Pagasys tx. After 30, yes, count them 30 weeks of tx,

they

decided I was a non-responder. That was September. This Friday, I

will begin new tx, Infergen. One shot every day, in addition to the

pills. I am very nervous about this phase of tx, and was not with

the

Milk Thistle only helps to support your liver

function, but will not kill this virus, only the

current treatment will do that sadly... Milk Thistle

is good and I DO take it but it never cleared my

virus, only the tx did...

Well ,

ny, some ppl claim when they take it initially it

causes some pain in the liver area,, but since the

liver has no nerves it would have to be the capsule

that surrounds the liver that is hurting. It, as far

as my knowledge does NOT fight the virus, but helps to

support the liver so it can fight the virus. Does it

stop the spread, no, not to my knowledge, does it

reduce the virus, no to my knowledge. The only thing

it does is to support the liver with nutrients it

needs to help it maintain its working order. But I

also think it can depend on how much damage you have

whether or not it will even do that..

You are welcome.

I know you are not trying to argue Ric, there is some

chemical in the milk thistle that is helpful for the

liver, what exactly, I will look up and post it ,, I

dont know exactly but I do know Dr. Murray has a

really good article on it,, you can find the article

at

Hello Rik,

I think transplant surgeons DO notice. I also think that by the time

you get to one of them, it is really so bad, and some are so sick and medical

school doesn't cover THIS, so they keep quiet. They are not trained in

homeopathy. they cannot guarantee results, and they are looking to do research

in

this area (transplants).

They re trained to trust only patented pharmaceuticals from the " big guys "

They re not really trained to think about this stuff.

Yes, doctors do use human beings as guinea pigs.

No, your doc can't say, just take some of these herbs. Well, they could

but, they could be sued and found guilty of " uncommon " medical practice. they

do what med school says.

This web site is a 'medical " web site. There are gallstones and liver

stones.

_http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/gallstones/#causes_

Note that the first treatment suggested is SURGERY (surprise, surprise)

Note that the second is an oral pill. Do you know what is in CHEMIX ?

Could be the same stuff as the homeopathic doctor recommends, but this stuff is

of " unknown " makeup. Who knows what's in it?

The modern docs try to KILL the virus. the homeopaths try to get the body

to optimal health so that the body can take care of itself.

All of this from a girl with a premedical degree, and a couple of

appications in at the local med schools.

there is no one answer. Cleansing your body can help you along until the

docs come up with the real cure that doesn't kill you. Or, if taken in time,

before irreversable damage is done, this method can cure.

I am living proof.

Serena, those articles are just about gall bladder stones. I

guess it makes sense that if stones are there (and I had some so

I got it yanked) and the kidneys, why not the liver? we even

have the personal story of a cup of gravel. So I believe they

can form there. Do they NEED to come out? maybe. Will you be

healthier once they do? maybe. will your bile duct work better?

I'm sure it would. but I have no GB, hence, no bile? Some other

questions I've had is will the cleanse work for those with

cirrhosis? another thought is why would folks on the transplant

list want their billirubin to go down?

Also Serena, I didn't see anything in your last post that

convinced me that you were cured of HCV These are just my

observations, I'm not for or against it. I'm just trying to

figure out what the benefits are........ric

Hi Reeze: I read your comments and understand where you are at -

at " a certain age " it much more difficult to get those pounds off.

Easy on not so easy off. In addition, it is depressing when your

clothes are tight and for me that starts a cycle... depressed, eat,

more depressed eat again.

Another group member (Amy) mentioned to me that it is good to

recognize the problem at 10lbs rather than let it go until it is 20-

30 or 40!

I have had success in the past with weight loss buddies - but they

are difficult to find.

I too am new to this group and I am signing up right now to eat

better. I am going to try smaller meals every 3hrs (300 cal) to

keep the hunger demons at bay. Also, I have been reading to keep

the sugar grams down.

Good luck - it is a battle worth winning!

Hi, for beginning please excuses my English, I am not a native speaker.

My name is Sara and I become a member of this group about a month ago,

but I dint found the courage to write before.

I've lessened the podcasts and I've learned allot, but I still

found very difficult to cope with food problem. Currently, I have an

almost normal weight (60kg at 163 cm), but too much percentage of fat

and my relationship with food it ferry far by being a healthy one. A

the beginning of losing control of my weight, about three years ago, I

thought it is my fault, now I know that the way I was raised it is a big

factor and this thought it very hard for me to face. ..It was easier to

blame myself, much easier. Now I see myself in the position of adding

to the list of pain from the past things that I try to forget, and this

list is so big and is so hard to forgive when is no one to ask for

forgiveness. I don't know how to deal with the pain, I don't

know how to deal with the fact that she will never say at list

" sorry " because hour's proud it is much bigger then her love

for her children. ..so I eat… so I am ashamed, not because I eat,

but because I am still in pain for the past (I think is pathetic for my

age), because what is behind eating and because I have all the knowledge

to end this madness … so I eat…

Thank you for having me hire

Sara [:)]

healing you will learn to make yourself healthy and naturally slender.

Just don't give up!

Stand up, take a step and repeat! YOU CAN DO IT! You sound strong. :-)

The best of luck to you and please keep writing, it is very

therapeutic. If you cant always find the courage to write on this site,

write something in private.

Sara [:)]
