ine, do you take naps during the day? Could you be napping too much

in the day time? Do you drink alot of caffeine drinks or eat much chocolate?

If one drinks too much coffee, colas, or iced tea, or eats too much chocolate --

all this caffeine messes up your metabolic system and your endorphins, etc.

This could cause you to sleep badly at night. Just a thought. Love, PJ

ine, this is excellent!! This is exactly what will help beat

depression, and or anxiety. Keeping busy, giving service to others helps get

our minds off of ourselves. Also, taking good care of yourself -- dressing

nice, using makeup, etc. It is very easy to let ourselves go physically when we

are depressed or down. It is easy to not wash our hair, not wear makeup, wear

sloppy clothes, etc. when we aren't feeling good about ourselves. But, if we

overcome that tendency to be lazy, and clean ourselves up, dress nicely, and

wear some makeup (even if only lipgloss or mascara), then we will feel better

about ourselves, and we will look better as well. Good comment, ine. Hugs,

ine, Nola,

I understand a person's desire to have a pet. I have several dogs & even

though they are a lot of work & responsibility, they are what has kept me

grounded these last few months---heck, years!. The days that it's all I could

do to

get out of bed, because of them, I need to and I do. They rely on me--- & love

me unconditionally. So while you bide your time until you are able to bring

a 4-legged companion into your life, the second best thing might be to

volunteer your time at a shelter or with a rescue organization. It's often

hard,

sometimes hardbreaking, but oh, so rewarding, to connect with a being that

sometimes has every good reason to distrust mankind, but still has the capacity

to

love. I often think that humans can stand to learn a lesson or two here.

Just something to consider.

Vicky.

Vicky, what a good suggestion! I have also done some volunteer work

with animal shelters (with dogs, as they are my favorite), but it is very

fulfilling, and very eye-opening to see all that goes on. I truly believe that

dogs give that unconditional love that Christ gave, and that we humans so rarely

feel that unconditional love in this life. To me, dogs are so wonderful because

I can just be myself with them, warts, blemishes and all. And they love me 100%

no matter what! Especially this time of year the shelters can use some help,

before and definitely the month or two after Christmas. Because well-meaning

people adopt a dog or cat, and then after awhile decide it is too much effort or

too much money, or whatever. To me it is so sad to see animals brought back to

the pound after they were adopted. Thanks Vicky for sharing such a neat

thought! Also, I used to find that it was worth " working " to get that rent

house so that I could get a dog as a pet. Once when I

hadn't been married but about 4 years or so, we had to move into an apartment

for awhile, and our puppy was okay there. But, then she grew over the size pound

limit for animals in this particular apartment complex, and it really broke our

hearts when we had to find another home for Ginger. We can still remember

vividly Ginger on top of the backseat by the back window looking at us so sadly

as the lady who adopted her drove off. Fortunately, Ginger was to grow even

more, and this lady lived on a farm and Ginger followed her everywhere! Ginger

had acres and acres to roam and play, and was very happy. However, I don't

think my husband or I ever completely forgave ourselves for getting in that

situation in the first place. Since then, we have done many animal rescues

ourselves, and I much prefer to be on that side of the story!! Hugs, PJ

check out the autism Society of America web site

www.autism-society.org

This was a list I got from my school district. Keep in mind not all

autistic have all the signs. Each child is different. The district

told me if your child exhibits 7 or more signs (age inappropriate)

then you need to get an eval done.

Resists normal teaching methods

Inappropriate laughing and giggling

lack of speech or impaired speech

acts as if deaf

no fear of real dangers

apparent insensitivity to pain

echolalic (repeats words or phrases)

spins objects or consentraits on spinning opject

not cuddly

sustained odd play (does not play with toys correctly)

uneven fine/gross motor skills

no eye contact

standoffish manner

difficulty mixing with other children

reists change in routine

unusual perceptual stimuli (Looking through people)

Inappropriate attachments to objects

marked physical overactivity or extreme passivity

carying tantrums: Extreme distress for no discernible reason

My daughter shown 15 of the signs. These are not all of the signs.

The autism society can give you some too.

I hope this helps

Sorry I thought you said symptoms. Here is web page listing some of

the other syndromes under PDD. Autism is one disorder under Pervasive

Developmental disorders, There are others. This page should tell you.

SOrry for the confusion.
