Hep C can be dx'd right away. So that can be confirmed or eliminated.

Lupus and fibro cannot be determined that definitely. Tell your doctor to rule

out the definites first. Sheesh.

Oh he is... but I also understand that a person can be infected with Hep C for

quite some time without showing symptoms or showing symptoms that the doctors

attribute to something else. Lupus was dx'd over 25 years ago... it should have

manifested much stronger by now, but even so, he tested for SLE again.

What is the specific test for HEP C?

I was given a blood test that specifically checks for HCV and how

your liver is doing. Some months later, I was given the results. I

have genotype 1A, no inflammation and low numbers.
