,

What wonderful news!! I am so happy for you and Lar. It's so interesting that

this unconventional 'blood scrubbing' is working well for Lar. As you said, it's

not curing him but it seems to be giving his body the time it needs to build up

the energy to fight the virus from within as well as without.

When he gets back to the States, what will his treatment plan be? Will he

qualify for treatment there? Is there alternative treatment like he's recieving

now?

What a wonderful New Year you have in store. I'm thrilled to pieces for both of

you.

Love

ABOUT LAR....

Hello all!

It has been a horribly long time since I have had time to write. Life hasn't

been letting me breathe...I have been so busy...but I wanted to update you on

what has been up with Lar.

Lar is still in Europe...it's been 1½ years now with only occasional visits

home. If you remember, his docs in Europe wanted to experiment with " blood

scrubbing " to help control the hepC virus. Well, the docs there did the blood

scrubbing and he had wonderful results. The blood scrubbing eliminated a lot of

the hepC virus from the blood which allowed the holistic concoctions he is on do

their jobs. His liver enzyme levels are down, his kidneys are functioning a bit

better and he feels and sounds MUCH better than he ever was. This is great news!

So his docs over there have scheduled blood scrubbing once a week for the

remainder of December (3 or 4 more times). He told me he is due, then, to come

home PERMANENTLY the first week in January because he has finally fulfilled his

last contract for work. I am praying that this is true and he really is coming

home. What a great Christmas present that will be, even though late.

Hugs to all...

Whilst this link is about removing cholesterol, perhaps the treatment Lar is

having is something similar......

Re: Re: ABOUT LAR....

Just guessing here and hopefully will tell us more. But there are

several types of artificial livers in use today. There generally used to keep a

failing liver going for a few days only. None perform all the functions of a

healthy liver but progress is being made. The latest way is too run blood thru

a pig liver and now some researchers are using stem cells to rapidly regenerate

the liver. practical applications won't happen for humans for some time.....

Hi Ric,

Yes it is sort of like dialysis, taking " junk " out of the blood by running it

through a machine and back into the body. It " scrubs " the virus and other stuff

out of the blood. I have never heard of anything like it in the USA. They seem

to do it a lot in Europe.
